The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took place around 5 pm on Sunday, July 10, 2022, in Allen County. The victim was identified by the Ohio State Highway Patrol as Patrick Woods, 56, of Cairo, Ohio. It has been reported that the other driver, 19-year-old Michaela Cosart of Harrod, Ohio crossed the center lane causing a head-on collision.
Speed was a factor according to the Highway Patrol. Unfortunately, the victim was not wearing a helmet. There are more deadly motor vehicle accidents during the summer months than any other time of year. More drivers are on the road, more drivers speed in summer weather, and there are more motorcycles, pedestrians, and bicycles on Ohio’s roadways.
If you are a motorcyclist in Ohio, it is important for your safety to always wear a helmet.
